Join in the fun by participating in this annual event that draws a crowd when photos of all the beautiful children in our town are put on display. All contestants must be Jefferson County residents and it’s open to ages newborn to 5 years old. Watermelon theme photos encouraged. Don’t miss out on the fun!
Deadline is 5pm, Monday, May 20, 2019
Complete an application and submit to the Chamber of Commerce with your favorite 8 x 10 photo.

All photos will be on display at a selected downtown storefront location, and winners will be announced at the Kick-Off Dinner on June 7.
This contest is for fun and is not a professional photo contest. The judges will look for the baby photo that appeals to them and showcases the individual child, the festival and our community, rather than the quality and clarity of the photo.
Parents of winning baby photos will be responsible for organizing and decorating a float for the Parade held Saturday, June 15th.
The Great American Bed Race
Prep your bed. Polish your racing technique. Teams can claim the top prize if they can run the fastest, Hula Hoop skillfully, then cross the finish line!
Local businesses, youth groups, civic clubs, churches, and first responders among others, will build and decorate a bed for bragging rights for their prowess on the streets of Monticello. Each team will consist of two pushers and one rider (dressed in pajamas) and a homemade bed.
This year we challenge the teens of the community to join the adults in building, decorating, and running the best bed race ever. This is not for the faint at heart!
Awards for fastest team in the Adult Group (age 18 and over) and the Teen Group (13-17) and for the Best Dressed Bed in each group. Team costumes are known to go over well with the judges.
This year’s race is sponsored by Gulf Coast Lumber / True Value.
It begins at 6:30 PM on June 7th at Mulberry Street. Be sure to get there early!
